The Hollow Atlas

★★★★★ 4.6 Editor rating

The Hollow Atlas is a point-and-explore adventure where the island itself is the main character. You arrive with a half-finished map and fill it in by solving environmental puzzles, talking to a handful of odd residents, and noticing things most games would let you walk past.

There's no combat and no fail state, just curiosity. Puzzles lean on observation rather than obscure logic, and the game trusts you to connect dots on your own. When I finally understood the tide mechanic that gated half the map, it felt earned rather than looked-up.

The hand-drawn art and ambient sound do a lot of heavy lifting for atmosphere. It's a short game by design — around six hours — but it's six hours that stay with you.
